Originally from Palisade, Colorado, Paul Lorenz currently lives in Fort Wayne, Indiana where he is Lecturer of Saxophone and Assistant Director of Bands at Purdue University Fort Wayne. Paul is pursuing a Doctor of Music in Saxophone Performance degree at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and was an Associate Instructor of Saxophone during his time at IU. He also completed a Performerโ€™s Diploma in Solo Performance at the Jacobs School of Music, and holds degrees from the University of Missouri โ€“ Kansas City and the University of Colorado at Boulder for his Master of Music and Bachelor of Music degrees, respectively.  .

Paul is active as both a solo performer and chamber musician, and also teaches locally in the Fort Wayne area. He was recently featured as a soloist with the PFW Symphonic Wind Ensemble on their December concert, as well as at the 2023 IMEA Conference in Fort Wayne, IN. He will also go on tour as soloist with the ensemble on their tour through Europe this May. In addition to his work at PFW, he also performs with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic Orchestra when called. His primary teachers include Otis Murphy, Zachary Shemon, and Tom Myer.
